European Digital Identity
Architecture and Reference FrameworkThe primary objective of the proposed European Digital Identity Wallet is to promote trusted digital identities for all Europeans allowing users to be in control of their own online interactions and presence. It can be seen as a combination of several products and trust services that enables users to securely request, obtain and store their information allowing them to access online services, share data about them and electronically sign/seal documents. A number of use cases will underpin the development of the EUDI Wallet to deliver effectively and seamlessly on its functionalities in all Member States. The eIDAS expert group has worked on a number of first use-case areas which include:
- Secure and trusted identification to access online services
- Mobility and digital driving licence
- Health
- Education/Diploma
- Digital Finance
